Who can give IELTS?


Who has Over 16 years of age can give IELTS Examination with a valid Passport.
What is IELTS?
IELTS means International English Language Testing System and It is well designed to judge the English proficiency of candidates who want to study in foreign countries where the English Language is necessary and also for those who want to migrate to English Speaking Countries (USA, UK, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Singapore, Europe).

Formates of IELTS

IELTS is in two formats. First, Academic and Second is General.
Academic IELTS – This Exam is for students who want to study in Abroad.
General IELTS – This Exam is for candidates who want to migrate to Abroad.

Modules of IELTS 

In this examination, You have to face four modules; Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing.
Speaking
In this module, You will have to spend around 11-15 minutes in front of the examiner. This module has three parts.
1)  4-5 minutes (Introduction and Interview)
2) 3-5 minutes (Cue Card and Follow Up Questions)
3) 4-5 minutes (Counter Questions)
Listening
This task will take exactly 40 minutes for 4 sections. Candidates will get the printed question sheet and then the tape is played and candidates have to write answers simultaneously while the tape is going on.
Candidates will get the time to look at the questions before the test stars and can check their answers at the end of each section.
Section 1: Basically a conversation between two people on a general topic. First, you are given some time to look at the questions then you will hear an example where you will have to listen to the correct answers. Then the listening test is played approx  4-5 minutes.
Section 2: Basically only one speaker will talk on the social or academic topic. You will be given 60 seconds to look at the questions without any example for 4 minutes.
Section 3: In this section around 3-4 peoples will communicate about academic, education or training based topics and you will not be given any example in this section also. And it will take around 4 minutes.
Section 4: Basically a speech or lecture is given as a monologue. It might be educational, academic or training based context without any type of breaks. It will take around 4-5 minutes.
Reading

Reading passages are based on biography, research and case studies. They are argumentative and are taken from textbooks,web sites and journals.



For Academic/General Reading: You will have 3 passages and Every passage will have 13-14 questions. To complete this task you will be given 1 hour.





Writing

In this task, you will be given 60 minutes (No Extra Time) and you will have to write 2 tasks.
In first task, you need to write minimum 150 words and 250 words in second task.
Academic Writing  
Task 1 - You are given a pie chart, line graph, bar chart, table, flow chart, a process or a combination of more than one chart containing details and figures.
Task 2 - In the second task, you have to write a specific essay topic about the environment, study, pollution, education, politics, and science etc.
General Writing
Task 1 - You will have to write a formal or informal short letter.
Task 2 - You will have to write a topic about day to day life like society, education, family, children and lifestyle.
